Our Growing Practices. The farm is USDA Certified Organic through NOFA-NY. Certified organic poultry and eggs come from animals that are not given antibiotics or growth hormones. Organic produce is grown without using specific conventional pesticides, fertilizers made with synthetic ingredients or sewage sludge, bioengineering, or ionizing radiation. We are inspected annually and are required to keep records for NOFA-NY and the USDA. For more information about organic production, please ask. We’d be happy to tell you more. Our animals are both free range and pasture raised. Free-range animals are allowed continuous access to the outdoors during their production cycle. Pasture raised animals receive some of their nutrients from pasture throughout their life, however, we also feed them grain from Lakeview Organic Grain, which adds to the cost of their production considerably.
