Overall Evaluation Methods. Evaluation of Point of Discovery School, including the educational program, consists of both a process evaluation and an outcome evaluation during the implementation period. Key data collection and analysis points will vary with assessment tools and purposes to include The District Assessments to be administered three (3) times per year. Point of Discovery School assessments include report cards, electronic portfolio, student-led conferences, Celebrations of Learning, and surveys to measure/identify/assess student engagement. Point of Discovery School students will be assessed using the same grade level standardized achievement tests as other District students including, but not limited to, state mandated tests. The process evaluation will examine the extent to which the planned activities are implemented through spiraled curriculum documentation, staffing, characteristics of participants, and community partnerships. The outcome evaluation will document the extent of growth in achieving the goals and objectives. Procedures will be followed to insure personally identifiable data is kept confidential. The administrator and other site staff members will be responsible for ongoing data collection and data analysis. The administrator and Point of Discovery School principal will coordinate an end-of-year evaluation, and provide reports to the Point of Discovery School Governance Crew, the District, and other interested groups. The District may provide technical, consulting services through Educational Services, as requested.
