Common use of Overview of Mid-State Substance Abuse Program Clause in Contracts

Overview of Mid-State Substance Abuse Program. If opened, the Mid-State Substance Abuse SHU-Alternative Program will provide a six-month intensive alcohol and substance abuse treatment (“I-ASAT”) program for inmates at high risk for continued drug and alcohol abuse who have received individual or combined confinement sanctions of more than 120 days for substance abuse-related offenses and have an OMH service level of 1 or higher. Suitability for placement in the program will be determined in DOCCS’ discretion, however, only inmates who have a substance dependency condition, as determined by a comprehensive substance dependency assessment conducted by qualified personnel, shall be eligible for the program. Inmates who have displayed satisfactory program participation and have completed their confinement sanctions in the unit before completing the six-month I-ASAT program will receive expedited placement into ASAT at their next general confinement facility.
