Parents combined entitlement. 10.2.1 After twelve months continuous service, the parents are entitled to a combined total of 52 weeks unpaid parental leave on a shared basis in relation to the birth or adoption of their child less an amount equal to the total amount of related authorised leave taken: a) by the employee before or after the maternity leave; and b) by the employee’s spouse before, during or after the maternity leave. 10.2.2 For females, maternity leave including special maternity leave may be taken and for males, paternity leave may be taken.
