Common use of Participation in School Activities of Children Leave Clause in Contracts

Participation in School Activities of Children Leave. 10.14.1 Pursuant to Labor Code 230.8 a unit member who is a parent, guardian, stepparent, xxxxxx parent, or grandparent of, or a person who stands in loco parentis to a child, of one or more children in kindergarten or grades 1 to 12, inclusive, or attending a licensed child care provider, may take off up to 40 hours each year, not exceeding eight hours in any calendar month of the year, to participate in activities of the school or licensed child care provider of any of his or her children, if the unit member, prior to taking the time off, gives reasonable notice to the District of the planned absence of the unit member.
