PAY DURING TEMPORARY TRANSFER. When an employee is assigned for one (1) shift or more, the major portion of the duties of a higher classification within the bargaining unit, he shall be paid at the same step of the salary scale of the higher classification as he was paid at in his previous position. An employee temporarily assigned to a lower paying position shall not have his rate reduced.
