Common use of Payment for Unused Holiday Clause in Contracts

Payment for Unused Holiday. Time Holiday time is not cumulative from year to year and shall be used during the calendar year in which it is credited. By November 1st of each calendar year, the member shall submit to the Chief of Police, in writing, a request for any holiday time desired to be used through the end of the year. Any unused and/or unscheduled holiday time shall then be paid to the member on the first pay period in December, with payment for the unused and unscheduled time being based upon the member’s regular hourly rate as of that pay period.
