Payment to Estate Upon Death. 28.01. In case of death of an employee, any earned but unused regular pay, compensatory time, or vacation time shall be paid to his spouse, or if no spouse exists, to his estate. Accrued sick time, for an employee with at least ten (10) years of full-time service, shall be paid to the spouse or estate at the ratio of one day’s pay for each two (2) days earned.
