Payout of Sick Leave Upon Separation from Employment. ‌ After ten (10) continuous years of permanent employment with the County: upon separation of employment by death or retirement in accordance with provisions of the Public Employees Retirement Law, as amended, or by resignation in good standing or layoff, an employee shall be paid a sum equal to 25% of his/her earned sick leave computed on the basis of the hourly equivalent to such employee's monthly salary as of the time of death, retirement, lay-off or resignation in good standing.
