Common use of Permanent Increase in Hours Clause in Contracts

Permanent Increase in Hours. When additional hours are assigned to a part-time position on a regular basis, the assignment shall be offered to any employee who is on the re- employment list with an entitlement to increased hours in the classification in which the additional hours are needed. If there is not an employee with a legal entitlement to increased hours in the class, the additional hours shall be offered to the employee in the appropriate class with the greatest hire date seniority on a work site basis. If the senior employee declines the assignment, it shall be offered to the remaining employees in the class at that work site in descending order of hire-date seniority until the assignment is made.
