Permanent Total Disablement Double Benefit. If the Insured Person suffers an Injury during the Policy Period solely and directly due to an Accident that occurs during the Policy Period and that Injury solely and directly results in the Permanent Total Disablement of the Insured Person which is of the nature specified in Section I.A.2, within 365 days from the date of the Accident, We will pay the Sum Insured as specified against this benefit in the Policy Schedule, in addition to the amount payable under Section I.A.2, provided that We have accepted a claim for Permanent Total Disablement in accordance with that Section.

  • Total Disability (a) Total disability, as used in this Plan, means the complete inability because of an accident or sickness of a covered employee to perform all the duties of his/her own occupation for the first two (2) years of disability. Thereafter, employees able by reason of education, training or experience to perform the duties of a gainful occupation for which the rate of pay is not less than seventy-five percent (75%) of the current rate of pay of their regular occupation at date of disability will not be considered totally disabled and will therefore not be eligible for benefits under this Long Term Disability Plan.

  • Definition of Total Disability Total disability means that the employee is unable, because of sickness or accident, to perform the duties of their regular occupation. This definition applies for the first twenty-four (24) months of payments. After this time, the inability to perform an occupation for which the employee is reasonably fitted by training, education or experience will constitute total disability. It is not required that an employee be confined to home, but they must be under the regular care of a physician.

  • Permanent Disability Permanent Disability" shall mean Employee's physical or mental incapacity to perform his or her usual duties with such condition likely to remain continuously and permanently as determined by Employer.

  • Permanent Employment (FULL - TIME & PART-TIME) For the purpose of this Agreement, permanent employees shall mean both full-time and part-time employees.

  • Work-related Injury/Disability An employee who receives an Employer Contribution and who is off the State payroll due to a work-related injury or a work-related disability remains eligible for an Employer Contribution as long as such an employee receives workers' compensation payments. If such employee ceases to receive workers' compensation payments for the injury or disability and is granted a medical leave under Article 10, he/she shall be eligible for an Employer contribution during that leave.

  • Separation from Service A termination of employment shall not be deemed to have occurred for purposes of any provision of this Agreement providing for the payment of any amounts or benefits upon or following a termination of employment unless such termination also constitutes a “Separation from Service” within the meaning of Section 409A and, for purposes of any such provision of this Agreement, references to a “termination,” “termination of employment,” “separation from service” or like terms shall mean Separation from Service.

  • Permanent Employee Definition: An employee who has completed a probationary period or a permanent employee who is serving a probationary period in the same or a different class. Permanent employees shall be laid off according to the layoff ratings, lowest ratings first. The order of layoff within categories 1, 2, and 3, and for permanent employees with equal layoff ratings, shall be at the appointing authority's discretion. Employees on leave shall be laid off or demoted in lieu of layoff as if they were active employees.

  • Temporary Disability In the event the Executive should become disabled, but such disability is not permanent, as defined above, such disabled Executive shall be entitled to his salary for a period of nine (9) months. If such temporary disability continues longer than said period of time, then the disabled Executive shall be deemed to have become permanently disabled for the purposes of this Agreement at the end of said nine (9) month period.
