PERS Contributions as Salary. It is recognized by the district and the Association that the salary schedules for 2016-2018 have been reduced to reflect the district’s six percent (6%) annual contribution to the Public Employees Retirement System on behalf of each teacher. It shall be understood that at such time as it is no longer legal for the district to make such contributions, or at such time as the district and the Association agree to discontinue PERS “pick-up,” the salary schedule will be increased by six percent (6%) on each step.
