Pension Contributions While on Short Term Disability Contributions for OMERS Plan Members. When an employee/plan member is on short-term sick leave and receiving less than 100% of regular salary, the Board will continue to deduct and remit OMERS contributions based on 100% of the employee/plan member’s regular pay.

Pension Contributions While on Short Term Disability Contributions for OMERS Plan Members. When an Employee/Plan Member is on short-term sick leave and receiving less than 100% of regular salary, the Board will continue to deduct and remit OMERS contributions based on 100% of the Employee/Plan Member’s regular pay. When an Employee/Plan Member is on short-term sick leave and receiving less than 100% of regular salary, the Board will continue to deduct and remit OTPP contributions based on 100% of the employee/plan member’s regular pay. If the Employee/Plan Member exceeds the maximum allowable paid sick leave before qualifying for Long-Term Disability (LTD)/Long-Term Income Protection (LTIP), pension contributions will cease. The Employee/Plan Member is entitled to complete a purchase of credited service, subject to existing plan provisions for periods of absence due to illness between contributions ceasing under a paid short-term sick leave provision and qualification for Long-Term Disability (LTD)/Long-Term Income Protection (LTIP) when employee contributions are waived. If an Employee/Plan Member is not approved for LTD/LTIP, such absence shall be subject to existing plan provisions.
