Placement of Material in Personnel Files. A. Any material placed in a faculty member's file must be signed and dated. A copy shall be given to the faculty member prior to the time of insertion in the personnel file. B. Information of a derogatory nature shall not be entered into an employee’s personnel records unless and until the employee is given notice and an opportunity to review and comment on that information. The employee shall have the right to enter into his or her personnel file, and have attached to any derogatory statement, his or her own comments. A faculty member who alleges that information in his/her personnel file is false or erroneous, shall have the right to file a grievance for the purpose of having such information rectified or expunged. Nothing herein shall limit the right of a faculty member to grieve disciplinary actions, including but not limited to documents which are punitive or disciplinary in nature.
