Police Cadets. Upon registration in a basic police training academy, all persons appointed as police cadets shall be issued new specialized and uniform items, as required by the academy. All items required only for the academy and not listed in section 1 above (e.g., academy uniforms) shall be issued separately from, and will not count as a part of, the initial issue to be made in conformance with section 1. Items included in section 1 above, and required for the academy, will be issued prior to appointment as a police officer and will fulfill the subsequent initial issue requirement to be made in conformance with section 1 above when/if the cadet successfully completes the academy and is appointed as a police officer.
