Common use of Political Office Leave Clause in Contracts

Political Office Leave. 1. Any teacher shall have the right to become a candidate for public office and to serve in such elective office unless there is a legal prohibition. An unpaid leave of absence not to exceed (two) 2 years shall be granted to any teacher upon application for the purpose of campaigning for, or serving in, a public office. Such leave may be extended by mutual agreement of the teacher and the Board.
