Common use of Possible Future Negotiations Clause in Contracts

Possible Future Negotiations. Should any article, section, or clause of this Agreement be declared invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, said Article, section, or clause, as the case may be, shall be automatically deleted from this Agreement but the remaining Articles, sections, and clauses shall remain in full force and effect for the duration of the Agreement and the parties shall thereupon immediately enter into negotiations on a legal substitute for the stricken or voided clause. In the event any law is enacted which requires compliance by the District, or which sets forth penalties in the event of noncompliance by the District, provisions of the contract which cause the noncompliance will cause the parties to immediately enter into negotiations on items that are mandatory subjects of bargaining.
