Probation on Initial Hiring. a) Newly hired employees shall serve an initial probationary period of one hundred and twenty (120) paid days from the date the employee commences employment. b) During the period of probation an employee will not accumulate seniority. Upon satisfactory completion of the probationary period the employee will be awarded seniority back to the date of employment. c) By mutual agreement of the parties to this Agreement, the probationary period for any employee may be extended beyond the established probation period. d) Where the Employer does not dismiss the Employee before the end of the probationary period the Employee shall be deemed to become a permanent employee in that position and classification.
