Procedure During Layoff. A. Layoff is defined as a separation from service for involuntary reasons not reflecting discredit on an employee. An employee shall be given written notice of a pending layoff at least fifteen (15) days before the effective date of the layoff, stating the reason for the layoff. Any employee who is given notice of layoff may file a written request to exercise an option in lieu of layoff with the Agency within seven (7) calendar days of receipt of notice of layoff.
