Procedure for Processing a Grievance. 1. The number of days indicated at each level should be considered a maximum, and every effort should be made to expedite the process. All time limits must be adhered to unless a modification or extension is granted by the Association and the Board. If the Board or administration does not adhere to such time limits, the aggrieved may initiate action to the next step of this procedure. If the aggrieved or the Association fails to adhere to such time limits, the grievance shall be considered withdrawn. A grievance to be considered under this procedure must be initiated by the aggrieved or the Association within thirty (30) consecutive days of its alleged occurrence or from the time when the aggrieved or Association could reasonably have known of its occurrence.
