Sick Leave Buy. Out Teachers with ten (10) years continuous service in the District shall be entitled to a payment of ten dollars ($10.00) per day if the accumulated sick days are one hundred (100) or less, fifteen dollars ($15.00) per day for every day over one hundred (100) for each unused accumulated sick leave day upon separation from employment provided they meet the following conditions:
1. The teacher shall be in good standing (no tenure charges filed) and the separation shall be by voluntary resignation;
2. The teacher provides the District with a written resignation by March 1 effective at the end of the current school year. Lesser notice may be allowed under appropriate circumstances as determined by the Administration. Payment shall be made following payoff of contract.
Sick Leave Buy. Back
1. Pursuant to RCW 28B.50.553, in January of the year following any year in which a minimum of sixty (60) compensable days of sick leave is accrued, and each January thereafter, any adjunct faculty may, upon written request, receive remuneration for unused compensable leave accumulated in the previous calendar year at a rate equal to one (1) day’s monetary compensation of the employee for each four (4) full days of accrued compensable leave in excess of sixty (60) days. Sick leave for which compensation has been received shall be deducted from the accrued compensatory balance at the rate of four (4) days for every one (1) day’s pay.
2. Adjunct faculty, at the time of separation from state service if eligible for retirement or disability retirement based upon their retirement plan, or the estate of a deceased eligible employee, may participate in sick leave buy out or VEBA compensation consistent with applicable statutory requirements and District procedure.

Sick Leave Buy. Back
1. Forms to request the sick leave buy-back will be available at the office of the Webb County Auditor.
2. Sick leave buy-back will occur only in November of each year.
3. A complete and signed Xxxx Leave Buy-Back Form must be received by the Office of the Webb County Auditor no sooner than November 1 and no later than November 30 of the year in which a buy-back is requested.
4. The member will receive the equivalent of eight hours of regular pay for each day of sick leave that the County buys back.
5. The County will only buy back sick leave in one block of twelve (12) days.
6. The sick leave buy-back will be available only to members who will still have a balance of thirty (30) days of sick-leave after the buy-back is complete calculated as of that October 31.
7. Sick leave buy-back is subject to verification that the foregoing conditions (1 – 6 above) have been met. The form for requesting sick leave buy-back will not change during the term of this agreement, subject to verification of the information by the Time Clock Plus (or similar system used in its place), and the form shall be referenced in Appendix C of this agreement. Payment for sick leave buy-back will be paid in the last November or first December pay period of the same year of the request. The County will have the ability to verify the accuracy of sick leave paid out. If it is determined that the member was over-paid, the County will have the ability to recover the amount of the over-payment by deducting, from the employee’s payroll, equal amounts of the over-payment divided by 13 equal installments. In the event that the member disputes the findings of the County, he/she will have the ability to appeal the finding, within one pay period after he/she is made aware of the auditor’s findings, to the Commissioners Court prior to any deduction being taken from the employee’s check. The appeal will be made in writing to the Office of the County Judge, who will take the matter before the Commissioners Court meeting as soon as practical. The decision of the Commissioner’s Court shall be final and binding.
Sick Leave Buy. Back - Leaving City City agrees to compensate, in cash, represented employees leaving City service after ten (10) cumulative years of employment, uninterrupted by any single period of absence in excess of one (1) year, for thirty-three and one- third percent (33-1/3%) of accrued sick leave.
Sick Leave Buy. Back Commencing July 1, 1997, unit members who have accumulated thirty sick days in their sick bank, and are able to maintain said thirty days after a sale of any sick days in excess of such thirty days, shall be entitled to sell back to the District, at the current daily rate of pay of such salary of the unit member the following number of days: twelve month unit members may buy back from the district thirteen unused sick and personal days from the current year’s entitlement if not absent more than six days. Ten month unit members can buy back ten unused sick and personal days from the current year’s entitlement if not absent more than five days. To the extent permissible by law, all payments made shall be as a non-elective employer contribution to unit member’s section 403b account.
Sick Leave Buy. Back will be granted at a rate of $30 per day, out of accumulated sick leave, for up to a maximum of 227 days for calendar year employees, and 205 days for school year employees. In order to qualify for this benefit, secretaries will not be allowed to exceed fifteen days of absence due to illness during their last year of employment. However, the Superintendent at his/her discretion may grant an exception to this fifteen day limitation for physician documented serious illness extending fifteen days or more in length, i.e., extensive surgery or hospitalization Notice of intent to retire must be provided by the employee no later than January 15th of the school year prior to the school year at the end of which he/she intends to retire.

Sick Leave Buy. Back: A food service employee who leaves the school district after at least 8 years of service in the school district may be eligible for sick leave buy-back. The buy-back will be based on 1% of their pay for every year beyond 3 years of service. The maximum buy-back is $3,000 per food service employee. The full amount of the buy-back will be deposited in a Post-Retirement HRA/XXXX in the name of the food service employee. The formula will be: Number of years of service – 3 = X percent X % times the number of accumulated sick leave hours times the food service employee’s daily rate of pay = the buy-back amount. For example: A food service employee leaves the district after 16 years of service. Food service employee would receive 13% (16 – 3) of her/his accumulated sick leave times her/his daily rate of pay up to a maximum of $3,000. To be eligible for the Sick Leave Buy-Back, a food service employee must notify their supervisor of their intent to retire/resign in writing by May 1 (if resigning/retiring at the end of a school year), or at least 30 days in advance when planning to retire/resign mid-year.
