Common use of Procedure for Tenured Teachers Who Have Been Honorably Dismissed to Maintain Active Applications for Employment Clause in Contracts

Procedure for Tenured Teachers Who Have Been Honorably Dismissed to Maintain Active Applications for Employment. On or about August 1 of each year, teachers who have been on the recall list since September 1 of the preceding school year will be informed, in writing by the Superintendent or the Superintendent's designee, of the procedure for maintaining an active application for employment in the district's files. To remain an active candidate, each teacher must annually notify the Personnel Office in writing of his/her wish to be considered for positions in the District for which they may be qualified. As candidates, they will receive serious consideration after all qualified teachers remaining on the recall list for the current school year have been returned to employment or have resigned.
