PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATION IMPROVEMENT. A. The Board shall pay the full cost of tuition and textbooks and transportation incurred in connection with any courses, seminars, conferences, in-service training sessions, or other such sessions which an employee is required and/or requested by the administration to take. Such request must be in writing. The above does not include workshops, college courses, or other training sessions for which credit is received. B. The Board shall reimburse all professional personnel holding a Conditional Certificate, Standard Professional Certificate, or Advanced Professional Certificate up to $2,700 per fiscal year for courses that align with the curriculum or are needed by the unit member to obtain or maintain highly qualified status as defined by the Maryland State Department of Education.
