PROFESSIONAL NEGOTIATIONS PROCEDURES. 1.01 Recognition‌ The Adena Local Board of Education, hereinafter the “Board,” recognizes the Adena Education Association, affiliated with the Ohio Education Association and the National Education Association, hereinafter the “Association” as the sole and exclusive bargaining agent for the “bargaining unit” for the duration of the Agreement. The bargaining unit is composed of all certified teachers, whether under contract or on leave, employed by the Board. The unit includes all existing personnel assigned to newly created certified teaching positions excluding the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, all administrative directors, principals, assistant principals, supervisors, administrative coordinators, and other persons engaged fifty percent of the time or more in the direct administration and supervision of professional personnel. The term “teacher” when used hereinafter in the Agreement shall refer to all employees in the bargaining unit. The Board agrees not to negotiate with or recognize any teachers’ organization other than the Association for the duration of this Agreement.
