Common use of Promotion to Associate Professor Clause in Contracts

Promotion to Associate Professor. Tenured Members at the rank of Assistant Professor are eligible to apply for promotion to Associate Professor in the same year they apply for tenure or in any year after attaining tenure. In the year the Member intends to apply for promotion, the Member will give written notification to the Xxxx by March 31 of the Member’s intent to apply for promotion to Associate Professor. The criteria for promotion to Associate Professor are found in Article 26.18.

The promotion may be granted or denied. Following a denial, an Associate Professor may re-apply for promotion in any subsequent year.
