Promotional Pay Rate. If a permanent employee is promoted to a position in a higher job classification, the employee’s salary shall be set at the salary step in the salary range established for the higher job classification that provides a minimum 5% salary increase, provided, however, that in no event shall the salary rate exceed the maximum salary rate for the new classification.
