Common use of Promotional Periods Clause in Contracts

Promotional Periods. Faculty may delay applying for promotion following their required Post-Tenure Review process if they so desire by indicating this in their Post-Tenure Review documentation. In the event that a faculty member who has delayed promotion wishes to apply for promotion, they must do so in writing so by the 7th week of spring quarter in the year preceding the one for which they are seeking promotion. Upon attaining promotional level Senior Tenure I, however, a faculty member must remain at Senior Tenure 1 for a minimum of 4 years before applying for Senior Tenure II, although the regularly- scheduled Post-Tenure Review cycle does not change (i.e. it comes up four years after the previous Post-Tenure Review.)
