Property Liability. Selkirk College does not assume any responsibility for personal property, lost, stolen or damaged from any cause. Students are required to arrange insurance for personal property through an insurance agent. RESPONSIBILITY FOR INSTITUTIONAL PROPERTY Residents are responsible for the general condition of the room, suite area, furniture and fixtures-this includes all common areas in and around the housing. Fire extinguishers must not be removed or tampered with. PROHIBITED POSSESSIONS The following, are prohibited at Selkirk College, and in Student Housing: • air conditioners • personal refrigerators • small appliances within housing rooms • exterior radio/satellite aerials and dishes • all live pets or laboratory specimens • BBQs • firearms • knives • explosives • flammable liquids and gases • illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia • other questionable items as determined by Selkirk College ROOM CHECK FORM The Room Check Form is extremely important and must be confirmed with any discrepancies noted and presented to the Student Housing Office within 48 hours of your move in date. Be very careful to xxxx down all pertinent information including furniture status, ceiling condition, excessive tack holes in walls, countertop condition, or carpet/floor stains. Failure to submit any changes to this form into the Housing Office may result in charges for damaged or missing items that you did not have any part in.
