Provisions Applicable to Less than Twelve-Month Employees. This paid parental leave, under each circumstance above, shall not carry over through the summer months or other breaks in the school calendar. Therefore, as an example, if a less than 12-month employee gives birth on May 15, she may take paid parental leave only through the end of her contract year and shall not be entitled to additional paid leave upon commencement of her subsequent contract. Likewise, if a child is born to a father on the last day of his nine-month contract year, he may take paid leave for that day, but does not carry over additional days of paid parental leave into the following nine-month contract year.
