Public Defense Standards. The Contractor’s primary and most fundamental responsibility is to promote and protect the interest of the client. The Contractor shall provide services to all clients in a professional, skilled manner and at all times comply with the Washington State Supreme Court Standards for Indigent Defense currently in place or as hereafter amended, including Section 3.4 thereof, the Rules of Professional Conduct, the Washington State Bar Association Standards for Indigent Defense Services approved by the Board of Governors on June 3, 2011 or thereafter amended, and case law and applicable court rules defining the duties of counsel and the rights of defendants in criminal cases, in particular the decision in Xxxxxx x. Mt. Xxxxxx, 989 F. Supp. 1122 (W.D. 2013) (collectively the “Public Defense Standards”). All attorneys providing services shall maintain a case load which fully complies with the Public Defense Standards. In addition, the Contractor shall maintain the highest standards of conduct and behavior towards the court, the prosecutors, and all parties.
