Common use of Public Duties Clause in Contracts

Public Duties. 7.11.1 An employer may grant a leave of absence without pay to an employee to engage in election campaign activities in a municipal, provincial, federal election, or Aboriginal government to a maximum of ninety (90) days. Such leaves will not be unreasonably denied. 7.11.2 An employer will grant a leave of absence without pay to an employee: (a) to seek election in a municipal, provincial, federal election, or Aboriginal government to a maximum of ninety (90) days. (b) Where elected to public office, for up to two (2) consecutive terms. 7.11.3 The Parties agree that Article 7.11 Public Duties may be applied to duties that include non-elected Aboriginal governance.
