Common use of Purchase of Service Weapon Clause in Contracts

Purchase of Service Weapon. Any member who is not under an investigation that could lead to lost time, discharge and/or criminal charges and who is eligible for and honorably retires (with the Ohio Police and Firefighters Pension System or PERS) from active duty with the City may purchase their city issued service weapon from the City at a cost of one dollar ($1.00). The Chief of Police shall have the final review to determine whether a retiring Sergeant qualifies to purchase their weapon.
