Unpaid Leave. Accrued compensatory time off may be used at the employee’s discretion, with management approval, after exhaustion of 100% sick leave (No. 3 above). However, FLSA compensatory time off shall not be counted against the employee’s four (4) month (nine [9] pay period [720 hours]) family or medical leave entitlement. Therefore, any use of FLSA compensatory time off under this Section shall extend the employee’s family or medical leave by the total amount of FLSA compensatory time off used.
Unpaid Leave. Accrued compensatory time off may be used at the employee’s discretion, with Management approval, after exhaustion of one hundred percent (100%) sick leave (a. above). In accordance with the final Department of Labor Regulations, which became effective January 16, 2009, and govern the federal Family and Medical Leave Act, any use of accrued compensatory time off under this Section shall be counted against the employee’s annual family and medical leave entitlement.
Unpaid Leave. Employees may take unpaid leave (in addition to any entitlements to certain types of unpaid leave that are available in accordance with the NES). Such leave will be subject to the Employer's approval except for up to five-days per year of unpaid leave, which may be taken by notice given at or before the commencement of such leave. Unpaid leave can be taken for less than a day.
Unpaid Leave. Requests by employees for unpaid leave of absence shall be made in writing to the department supervisor and may be granted at the Employer's discretion. The employee shall give at least seven (7) days' notice to minimize disruption of staff. The Employer shall make every reasonable effort to comply with such requests. Notice of the Employer's decision shall be given in writing as soon as possible.
Unpaid Leave. (a) Any leave for the purpose of Defence service that exceeds the paid entitlement prescribed in subclause 32B.4 will be unpaid.
(b) Casual employees are entitled to unpaid leave for the purpose of Defence service.
Unpaid Leave. Contributions shall not be required to be made in respect of any absence from work without pay.
Unpaid Leave. Subject to operational requirements and availability of qualified replacement staff, where required, the Employer agrees to provide employees with one (1) month of unpaid leave while granting service credits for seniority purposes, provided that the employee would not have been laid off during the period of unpaid leave. The month of unpaid leave does not necessarily have to be taken consecutively, but cannot be taken in amounts of less than two (2) days at a time.
