Common use of Purpose of the Grievance Procedure Clause in Contracts

Purpose of the Grievance Procedure. The purpose of the grievance procedure is to resolve disputes peacefully and amicably without impeding the provisions of essential public services. Therefore, should a grievance arise, there shall be no interruption or impeding of work, on account of such differences, but an xxxxxxx effort shall be made to settle the matter promptly in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement. The grievance procedure herein and the arbitration procedure outlined in Article 14 shall constitute the sole recourse for the settlement of disputes involving the interpretation, application, or enforcement of the terms of this Agreement except as provided for in Section 13.16.
