Pursuant to R. C. 3319.143, a teacher who is absent due to physical disability resulting from an assault which occurs in the course of Board employment shall be maintained on full pay status during the period of such absence. Teachers shall furnish a signed statement on forms prescribed by the Board to justify the use of assault leave. If medical attention is required, a certificate from a licensed physician stating the nature of the disability and its duration shall be required before assault leave can be approved for payment. Falsification of either a signed statement or a physician’s certificate is ground for suspension or termination of employment under R.C. 3319.16 and this Agreement. Assault leave granted under this Article shall not be charged against sick leave earned or earnable under R.C. 3319.141, R.C. 3319.08, or this Agreement. This Article shall be uniformly administered.
