Common use of Qualifications for Teaching Clause in Contracts

Qualifications for Teaching. It is the responsibility of each individual teacher to provide written evidence that they meet requirements for Michigan Teacher Certification and where applicable Highly Qualified status promulgated by the Michigan State Board of Education. An exception would be any teacher employed by the Board pursuant to Section 380.1233(b) of the Revised School Code. It is the responsibility of individual teachers to keep their certification and HQ status documentation current and to make sure that a copy of their current teaching certificate and HQ verification is on file in the District’s personnel files.
