Common use of Qualified for Payment Clause in Contracts

Qualified for Payment. In order to qualify for holiday pay an Employee must work their full scheduled shift immediately preceding and immediately following the holiday, except where the Employee is absent due to illness or bereavement leave. If an Employee is absent on a paid holiday when scheduled to work, he will forfeit all pay for the holiday unless due to illness. However, if an Employee qualifies for E.I. benefits, they will not qualify for holiday pay.
