Common use of Quality Measures and HEDIS Clause in Contracts

Quality Measures and HEDIS. The Contractor is required to conduct quality of care outcome studies, which include quality measures for HEDIS. Measures will include all Medicaid plan measures required by the NCQA for accreditation, in addition to measures specified in the Policy and Procedure Guide. HEDIS measures for calendar years 2009-2010 must be submitted to SCDHHS in the manner specified in the Policy and Procedure Guide. It is encouraged that the 2009-2010 measures be submitted in accordance with the NCQA-specified standards and auditing and submission process. Beginning with calendar year 2011 data, HEDIS measures must be submitted in accordance with the NCQA-specified standards and auditing and submission process. SCDHHS may impose liquidated damages, sanctions and/or restrict enrollment pending attainment of acceptable quality of care.
