RATES OF PAY AND JOB CLASSIFICATIONS. 33.01 An Employee’s length of service with the Employer, for the purpose of awarding increments in accordance with Schedule A of this Agreement shall: (a) begin at the time at which such Employee commenced in the Employee’s current job band; (b) not include any time during which such Employee is on lay-off or leave of absence if the period of lay-off and leave of absence combined exceeds fourteen (14) weeks in any one (1) calendar year. 33.02 An Employee who is a successful applicant under Article 15 (Job Vacancies), will be paid at the rate of pay in the progression in the new job band which will provide a higher rate of pay than the Employee’s former position.
