RECOGNIZED PAID HOLIDAYS. L41:01 The Board shall grant to each employee the following recognized paid holidays: New Year’s Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Christmas Day Victoria Day Boxing Day Four (4) Floater Holidays* Canada Day** August Civic Holiday** Labour Day** Family Day*** * Three (3) floater holidays will be taken in conjunction with the Christmas holiday period on dates to be designated by the Board. One (1) floater holiday will be taken on Easter Monday unless Easter Monday is a school day in which case the floater holiday will be taken on a date to be designated by the Board. ** If a member of the bargaining unit is scheduled to work a period that includes days immediately before and after any of these holidays, and the employee works their scheduled regular day of work preceding and their scheduled regular day of work following the noted public holiday they shall be entitled to payment for the holiday. *** Provided that Family Day is a recognized statutory holiday according the Ontario Employment Standards Act.
