Common use of Release Time and Travel Clause in Contracts

Release Time and Travel. The Employer will approve paid release time for up to three (3) employee representatives who are scheduled to work during the time negotiations are being conducted for the initial meeting only. When the bargaining matter affects more than one (1) institution, the Employer may approve paid release time for one (1) employee representative from each affected facility. The Union will provide the DOC Headquarters Labor Relations Office with the names of employee representatives who will participate at least fourteen (14) calendar days in advance of the date of bargaining in order to facilitate their release. No overtime, compensatory time or exchange time will be incurred by participating employees as a result of negotiations. The Union is responsible for paying any travel or per diem expenses of the employee representatives.
