Common use of Relief Pools Clause in Contracts

Relief Pools. 11.05.01 Establishment of Relief Pools Relief pools may be established for any class of work in Groups I, II, or III. The City retains discretion to determine which relief pools will be created and the number of relief positions that will be available in the respective pools. This information shall be provided to the Union and made available to employees. 11.05.02 Purpose The purpose of the relief pool system is to: 🞟 Provide employees with an opportunity to learn and gain experience in preparation for promotion; 🞟 Provide the City with a pool of trained and experienced employees to act in relief of absent employees; 🞟 Provide the City with an opportunity to evaluate an employee’s suitability for promotion.
