Common use of RENEWAL AND PROMOTION Clause in Contracts

RENEWAL AND PROMOTION. 1. The Agreement may be modified annually and must be approved by the Graduate Medical Education Committee. This Agreement may be renewed annually by OSU, contingent upon the Resident's satisfactory performance as determined by the Program Director, an d upon c om pl i a nc e w ith th e te r ms of t he Agreement. 2. The decision to offer renewal and/or promotion to the next level of training at OSU Hospital is the responsibility of the Program Director, who will consult with the Clinical Competency Committee, or other Committees appointed by the Program Director, the Chair of the Department or Director of the Division. 3. A decision for non-renewal of appointment or non-promotion must be given in writing with adequate notice, consistent with institutional policies, along with the reasons for the decision. An adverse decision regarding advancement in the program may be based on the best interests of the overall educational goals and standards of the training program and the care of patients.
