Repayment to City if Terminated Within the Year of Study. In the event such reimbursed employee leaves the employment of the City for any reason, except layoff, within a period of one (1) year following the completion of such course of study, the amount paid by the City for such tuition and books shall be repaid to the City by having the Director of Finance deduct same from the severance pay or last salary paycheck of such employee.
