Request to Offer Above Minimum Step. An Appointing Authority may at their sole discretion submit a written justification and request to offer a salary that is above the minimum step of the salary range to the Chief Human Resource Officer. The University's designated personnel officer reviews the request and notifies the Appointing Authority of approval or denial of the request. Approval must be received from Human Resource Services prior to making the offer at a higher salary to the candidate.
