New Employee Orientation. The Union will provide each agency personnel director with the names and addresses of up to two (2) authorized Union representatives per agency to receive notice of each formal orientation meeting held by the Department. The notice will be sent as soon as such meetings are scheduled (but not less than ten (10) days in advance) and will include date, time and location. Due to operational exigencies, agencies may schedule an orientation which will provide the Union with less than the requisite ten (10) days' notice; however the Union shall be notified as soon as possible after the scheduling of the orientation and the Union representative shall be released from duty. Agencies shall routinely schedule orientations in a manner that will allow for the ten (10) day advance notice to the Union. During the formal orientation, the Union will be permitted to give a twenty (20) minute presentation which may include an enrollment in supplemental Union benefits. The parties shall encourage employee attendance, although attendance shall not be mandatory if an employee objects to attending the presentation. In the event a formal orientation meeting is not held, or the Union is unable to attend the formal orientation because the designated Union representatives cannot be released under Article 4, the Employer shall allow the Union representative and the employee(s) to meet during duty hours at a mutually agreed upon time and location for twenty (20) minutes Employee participation in these meetings shall be encouraged although an employee shall not be required to attend such a meeting.
New Employee Orientation. Subject to prior approval of the Department Head, SEIU Local 721 representatives shall be notified of and participate in new employee orientation on County time for the sole purpose of providing employees information regarding SEIU Local 721 Union membership. This Article shall be subject to advisory arbitration.
New Employee Orientation. The County agrees to maintain, within budget constraints, during the term of this MOU, a Human Resources-sponsored New Employee Orientation (NEO) program for newly hired County employees. Representatives of the Union may provide a 25-minute presentation at each Department of Human Resources-sponsored NEO, at a time specified by the County, where new employees in a classification represented by this unit are in attendance. The Union agrees to give the County copies of the materials to be used in the session, which shall include, but are not limited to, this MOU, a Union membership application, and a list of shop stewards, including their departments and/or work areas and telephone numbers. The County shall provide the Union with 10 days advance notice of an NEO. The County reserves the right to have a management representative in attendance; however, the County and Union agree that neither party will be unduly disruptive during the Union’s presentation. It is understood that if the Union xxxxxxx/officer wishes to make such presentations on behalf of the Union, the xxxxxxx/officer shall be required to use his/her own annual leave for the presentation if it falls within his/her normal workday. When reviewing such requests for annual leave, the department will adhere to County and departmental policies regarding the use of annual leave. In accordance with AB119, the County shall provide to the Union, within 30 days of hire date, electronic notification of the name, job title, department, work location, work, home and cell phone numbers, home address, and personal e-mail addresses of any newly hired employee in a classification represented by this unit, if provided by the employee. The County shall continue to provide this information to the Union every 120 days for all employees of this unit.
New Employee Orientation. New employees will be advised that a collective agreement is in place and be provided with the name of their shop xxxxxxx. The Chief Shop Xxxxxxx or designate and the new employee shall be given an opportunity to meet within regular working hours without loss of pay for up to fifteen (15) minutes during the first thirty (30) days of his/her employment.
New Employee Orientation. 35.01 The Company agrees to acquaint new employees with the fact that a Collective Agreement is in effect and with the conditions of employment set out in the Articles dealing with Union security and dues check off. A new employee shall be advised of the name and location of his/her Union Xxxxxxx and shall be provided with a copy of the Collective Agreement. The Plant Chairperson and Health & Safety Co-chairperson will be allowed up to one (1) hour each to orient and introduce new hires to the Union.
New Employee Orientation. Prior to the lunch break for new employees the County shall introduce Union Representatives to the new employees.
New Employee Orientation. The onboarding process of a newly hired City employee, whether in person, online, or through other means or mediums, in which employees are advised of their employment status, rights, benefits, duties and responsibilities, or any other employment-related matters.
New Employee Orientation. The Employer will provide advance notice to the Union with the schedule for new employee orientation, the schedule for the Union to present to new employees for up to 30 minutes during the orientation, and the location of the orientation. The Employer will provide a Union Representative with the opportunity, on released time without pay, to meet with new bargaining unit members at the new employee orientation or during an alternate time during the orientation process. New employees will be paid for up to 30 minutes for this piece of orientation.
New Employee Orientation. (a) Thirty (30) minutes shall be granted for a representative of the Union to make a presentation to new employees for the purpose of identifying the organization’s representation status, organizational benefits, facilities, related information, and distributing and collecting membership applications. This time is not to be used for discussion of labor-management disputes. If the Union representative is an employee of the Agency, the employee shall be given time off with pay for the time required to make the presentation.
(b) The presentation shall occur as soon as possible after hire, but no later than thirty (30) days after hire. If an established Agency New Employee Orientation occurs during the thirty (30) day time period, the presentation shall be made at the New Employee Orientation. The Employer will provide the Union reasonable notice of the place and time of the orientation. If an established Agency New Employee Orientation does not occur during the thirty (30) day timeframe, the presentation will be scheduled for a mutually agreed upon time between the representative of the Union and the employee’s supervisor. The representative of the Union will be responsible for contacting the employee’s supervisor to schedule the presentation.
(c) The Union agrees that temporary employees will not make presentations at new employee orientations.
(d) If, through no fault of the Employer, the Union does not request to schedule a presentation for an employee within thirty
New Employee Orientation. The City shall provide the Association with written notice of hiring a new employee in a classification represented by EAA in accordance with Article
2.1. Each Department shall provide the Association access to new employee orientations. Notice of scheduled orientations shall be provided at least 10 calendar days prior to the orientation. The Association and Department may agree to group or individual meetings between new EAA employees and EAA representatives on City time for a maximum uninterrupted time of up to 60 minutes that shall not be shared with any other unions/organizations/presentations. These meetings shall occur no later than 60 days from the date of hire unless otherwise agreed to by the parties. EAA Representatives may provide the new employee any information or materials about EAA, its programs, benefits and becoming a member. Employee attendance at a new employee orientation shall be made mandatory for the entire agenda. In addition to EAA staff, one EAA xxxxxxx, Governor, or Unit Council Member (representative) may be released to conduct or participate in new employee orientation meetings. Permission shall be granted to the representative by the employing department unless such absence would cause an undue interruption of work. If such permission cannot be granted, the employing department shall provide the Association an alternative presentation date and time that is not more than five (5) business days beyond the initial new employee orientation date.
