RETENTION OF SALARY ABOVE THE MAXIMUM UPON MOVEMENT BETWEEN CLASSES. 1. Upon movement without a break in service to a class with a higher salary range, an employee receiving a salary above the maximum shall be entitled to a promotional adjustment as provided by these regulations unless such rate exceeds the maximum of the new class. In this event, the employee shall be entitled to the same rate as was received in the class the employee left until such time as the maximum of the new class equals or exceeds this rate.
