Retention, Removal and Promotion of Poorly Performing Teachers. 1. It is the purpose of this policy to improve the quality of instruction, enhance student learning and be a model of professional growth intended to be used continually to assist educators in improving teacher performance. The process is to be collaborative and in support of the teacher. Through this process, the Board will use this data to assist in employment decisions, including retention, promotion of teachers, renewal of teaching contracts, and, where necessary and with reliable date, removal/nonrenewal of poorly performing teachers.
