Retirement Benefits for Employees. Initially Hired on or After July 20, 2012, Subject to the Reopener Provisions in Article 8, Paragraph I. On October 1, 2012, the City Council approved an agreement between the City and the Union on the terms of an interim defined contribution plan under San Diego Charter sections 140 and 150 for employees initially hired on or after July 20, 2012. The agreement is attached as Exhibit D and is incorporated into this MOU. The agreement sets forth retirement benefits for all employees initially hired on or after July 20, 2012, who are ineligible for the City’s defined benefit plan.
