Common use of Return to Work/Fit for Duty Clause in Contracts

Return to Work/Fit for Duty. Following a prolonged illness, serious injury, health condition, or medical treatment that may impair the faculty member’s performance of their duties, the College reserves the right to require the faculty member to provide a fit-for-duty certificate upon return, stating the ability of the faculty member to fulfill the essential functions of the faculty member’s assigned position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
